Introduction – What is Sarawak Pass?

Sarawak Pass is a rebranding of SarawakID, in line with Sarawak’s digitalization agenda and inspired by concepts such as SingPass in Singapore.

Functions as a “single sign-on” system for various state government portals and applications, including job applications, Islamic marriage matters, assistance such as SKAS and others.

Through the SarawakPass application, users can verify their identity using MyKad and facial authentication (eKYC), then log in with a facial scan or QR code more securely.

This account can only be used on one device at a time and is targeted at people aged 13 and over.​​

The main function of SarawakPass

• Become the official digital identity of citizens/users for online transactions with the Sarawak State Government (single sign-on system to various government portals and applications).

• Supports safer identity verification for government affairs and digital transactions through eKYC and facial verification.

• Provides single access to various government digital services such as aid applications (e.g. SKAS), state government job e-recruitment, and other specialized systems.​​

• Digital Document Storage: Users can store important information needed for official matters digitally, so that the process of applying for permits or assistance becomes more efficient without having to carry a lot of physical documents.

• Official Notifications & Announcements: Receive updates on government initiatives, disaster warnings or important announcements directly (push notifications).

How to Register for the Sarawak Pass Application

Here are the steps to register on the Sarawak Pass application:

Step 1: Download the App

• Users need to download the app SarawakPass.
• This app is available on three major platforms: Google Play, App StoreAnd App Gallery.

Step 2: Open the App & Start Registering

• Once downloaded, open the application.
• Select a button or menu “Register Account” (Register) to start the process.

Step 3: Enter Personal Information

You are required to fill in the following basic information:

• Identity Card Number (MyKad/IC).
• Full name according to identity document.
• Active telephone number.
• Valid email address.

Step 4: Verify OTP

• The system will send a code OTP (One-Time Password) either via SMS or email.
• Enter the code into the app to verify your identity.

Step 5: Security Settings

To protect your account, you need to set:

• Password the strong one.
• Safety PIN or use a function biometrics (such as fingerprint or facial scanning) if your device supports those functions.

Step 6: Identity Verification (e-KYC)

This process is important for higher digital safety:

• Scanning MyKad: Take a photo of your ID card via the app.
• Selfie (Selfie): Take a picture of your face for facial verification.

Step 7: Registration Successful

• Your SarawakPass account is now ready to use.
• You can log in and start accessing various Sarawak Government digital services in an integrated manner.
