Malaysians are enthusiastic about the booster vaccine after the Covid-19 case rises!

JAKARTA-In recent weeks, Malaysia has experienced a surge in the Covid-19 case which has made residents more aware of the transmission of the virus. This increase triggered many people, especially among vulnerable populations, to find booster vaccination in an effort to protect themselves.

GENERAL DOCTOR Dr. Parmjit Singh explained that interest in booster vaccination increased due to the impact of the COVID-19 new variant cases in neighboring countries such as Thailand and Singapore. “It is very important for individuals who meet the requirements to get the latest vaccination to maintain strong protection, especially against the variants that arise,” he said.

Although the Covid-19 situation in Malaysia looked stable, Dr. Parmjit reminded that this virus has not been completely lost from the community. He appealed to residents to maintain their personal hygiene, use masks in a crowd, and immediately seek medical help if they experience suspicious symptoms. Public awareness and responsible behavior, according to him, are the key to preventing the surge in further cases.

In addition, Dr. Parmjit also stressed that new variants can spread cross -border through community mobility. According to him, the weather factor can also play a role in increasing COVID-19 cases. However, until now, there is no strict evidence that links dry weather with a surge in virus transmission. “Changes in weather can affect human behavior, especially when people move more in air-conditioned rooms,” he explained.

In this condition, some Malaysians who are included in vulnerable groups began to take precautions. One of them is B Prevent, an elderly aged 68 years. He claimed to have received one vaccination and booster in 2021, but hesitant to receive the fourth injection. “I am careful and wear a mask when going to a crowded place. I realize that because of age, I am vulnerable to the virus, but I am still careful,” he said.

Because the surge in COVID-19 cases often occurs at certain times, such as holidays, Dr. Parmjit notes that increasing community mobility and easing measures are also a cause factor. Chairman of the Penang Health Committee, Daniel Gooi, added that although there was no firm evidence that dry weather increased the transmission of COVID-19, these conditions could encourage more meetings in the room, facilitating virus transmission.

The latest data shows that there is a significant trend in the COVID-19 case in Malaysia, especially after the large celebration. This problem reminds the public of the importance of the presence of vaccinations that are constantly updated to fight new variants. Dr. Parmjit emphasizes the importance of booster vaccine in this context.

With the increasing public health awareness, the authorities in Malaysia continue to try to provide broader access to vaccination. They hope that booster vaccination can help strengthen individual immunity and provide more protection for society as a whole.

The vaccination campaign is still the main focus in handling Pandemi. By giving a booster vaccine, it is hoped that the community will be more protected and can reduce the number of COVID-19 transmission which has the potential to be unsettling. The community was asked to continue to obey the health protocol after getting vaccination, to ensure personal health and others.
