Preparing a Malaysian Education Certificate (SPM) is an important stage for students in Malaysia. With the 2025 SPM exam date approaching, knowing the complete exam schedule is an important first step for students and parents to plan an effective revision schedule.

The 2024 SPM exam will begin with the Malay Speaking Test on 3 – 6 November 2025.

For students taking science subjects, special attention must be paid to the date of the Science Practical Exam. This test will be held on November 17, 18 and 19, 2025 for Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects.

For students taking Additional Science, a practical test will be held November 19, 2025. Be sure to review all laboratory procedures and important concepts before this test.

Next, an English Speaking Test will be held starting from November 10 to 13, 2025.

Another important date to remember is November 20, 2025. Today there will be a Listening Test for Malay and English.

The SPM 2025 written exam will begin November 25, 2025 and ends on December 23, 2025.

The 2025 SPM exam schedule takes into account everything including the number of school days as well as federal and state holidays.

Therefore, all candidates are reminded to refer to the examination schedule for information on the date, time, code and examination paper as well as instructions to be followed.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS – SPM 2025

1. Candidates must take all examination papers for the subjects registered for. Candidates who do not take the written exam or take the Speaking Test, Listening Test, Oral Test, Science Practice Test and Coursework will be considered ABSENT for the subject concerned.

For candidates who cannot take or do not attend the exam paper, they are required to submit supporting documents such as a doctor’s certificate or a special permission letter from the Exam Director. These supporting documents must be submitted to the Chief Exam Supervisor/Chief Assessor of the Exam Center/Chief Assessor/Chief Practicum Supervisor before the SPM 2022 exam period ends.

2. Candidates should check the Exam Registration Statement details before the exam. Candidates are required to notify JPN if there is any information error and fill out the Candidate Information Correction Form. Candidates are charged a fee of RM30.00. Payment must be made to JPN on behalf of the Accountant General of Malaysia using a Money Order/Postal Money.

3. Prospective participants must submit a Statement of Examination Registration to the Chief Examination Supervisor/Chief Assessor of the Examination Center/Chief Assessor (Assessor)/Chief Practical Supervisor at an examination venue that is not the candidate’s home examination venue. The Chief Examination Supervisor/Chief Assessor of the Examination Center/Chief Assessor (Assessor)/Chief Practical Supervisor must check the candidate’s information and subject information before allowing the candidate to go up to the examination place under his supervision.

4. Candidates must read the Examination Guidelines and Instructions listed in the 2024 SPM Examination Time Table and sign the Candidate Acknowledgment Form.
