By registering for this scheme, each SMUE member will receive two (2) types of benefits, namely a shopping voucher of RM 150 per year and a death voucher of RM 500.

What is the Golden Age Friendly Scheme (SMUE)?
The Friendship Scheme is one of the programs under Iltizam Pengasih Selangor. This is a re-branded program of the Golden Age Friendly Scheme Program.
This is an extension of the previous implementation where the so-called gold-friendly scheme was often considered a program only for the elderly even though the program was also open to people with disabilities.
Therefore, the name Friendly Scheme is now the main name of the program, and under the Friendly Scheme, there are two (2) programs Golden Age Friendly Scheme and Special Human Friendly Scheme which targets two (2) different categories.
The golden age-friendly scheme targets seniors aged 60 years, and the special human-friendly scheme will be for people with disabilities only.
Any applicant who has passed the registration of the Golden Age Friendship Scheme or Human Only Friendship Scheme will be considered as a member of the Friendship Scheme.

Each member of the Friendship Scheme is entitled to receive 2 (two) types of benefits, namely life benefits and post-death benefits.
Benefits during life are a gift Shopping voucher worth RM 150 which will be awarded annually as long as the member of the friendship scheme is alive.
Benefits after death are help Death is worth RM 500 which will be given to the registered heirs where the claim must be made within a period of 6 months from the date of death of the friendship scheme member.


Benefits of Golden Age Friendly Scheme (SMUE)
Starting January 1, 2021, for every successful registration, SMUE members will receive two (2) types of benefits in this program. The benefits are as follows:
1. RM 150 Shopping Shopping Voucher (Living Benefit)
- RM 150 voucher is given every year as long as the member is alive
- Vouchers can be claimed at state service centers by bringing a registered identity card
- Vouchers can only be claimed while the member is still alive.
- There are no voucher claims after death Valid.
- Vouchers can only be used at designated supermarkets
- Vouchers must be used within 3 months after redemption
- Vouchers lost or not spent within 3 months cannot be replaced.
- Members are asked to always update their telephone number information so they don’t miss any information


2. Death RM500 (Benefits After Death)
- Benefits from the demise of the Friendship Scheme will now be coordinated under a new initiative, Khairat Darul Ehsan (KDE).

Friendship Scheme Application Conditions
The following are the requirements for applying for the Gold Age Friendly Scheme (SMUE):
- Malaysian citizen; And.
- 60 years and over; And
- Still alive or deceased as of January 1, 2021 (need to apply within a certain time period 6 months from the date of death); AND
- Living in the state of Selangor; And
- Voters are registered in Selangor at the time of registration.

Voucher claim stage
Eligible members can claim vouchers at Dun Community Service Centers based on the following birth months:
- January – March → Claim: February – March
- April – June → Claim: April – June
- July – September → Claim: July – September
- October – December → Claim: October – December
The 2025 Phase 4 claim period is at October 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025.

A claim method
Claims can only be made by eligible registered members (either for the Golden Age Friendly Scheme-SMUE or Special Human Friendly Scheme-SMIS) at the Dun Community Service Center (CPM) according to the birth phase and time period determined each year.
The claim period for Stage 4 of 2025 (born October-December) is 1 October to 31 December 2025.
How to claim a friendly scheme voucher
- Beneficiaries must appear in person and carry original identity cards (not permitted) to the CPM state assembly to collect the voucher.
- Make sure the application has been approved and a review can be done on the review site or official e-Mesra portal.
- The voucher can only be taken by the recipient while alive and cannot be claimed after death.
- Vouchers can be used at designated supermarkets and are valid for a period of 3 months from the date of claim.

Voucher Valid Duration
The validity period for the Friendly Scheme 2025 voucher is 3 months or 90 days from the time the voucher is collected by the recipient at the Dun Community Service Center (CPM).
Vouchers must be used during this time at designated supermarkets. If not used within 3 months, the voucher cannot be replaced or exchanged for the following year.
Apart from the RM150 a year voucher, members are also entitled to a death benefit, which is currently coordinated under the Darul Ehsan Khairat (KDE) initiative.
Claims must be made by the beneficiary within 3 months, complete with the necessary documents (death certificate, heir’s identity card, bank statement, related claim form).
How to claim SMUE/SMIS death
- Recipients must make claims online via YAWAS and the website application kde.yawas.com.my.
- Waris is a name registered in the Darul Ehsan Khairat System.
- Khairat Darul Ehsan benefits are subject to death Starting June 1, 2025.
- The death claim period is 3 months from the date of death.
- Claims past the specified date are counted NOT FEASIBLE.
- Payment will be made directly to the registered recipient’s account.
Required supporting documents:
- Photocopy of the heir’s identity card
- Copy the front page of the recipient’s bank account
- Photocopy of member’s death certificate
