What is the SOCSO 24 Hour Protection Scheme?
Glide 24 Hour PROTECTION is Non-Disaster Work Accident Scheme (SKBBK) introduced through amendments Employee Social Security Act of 1969 [Akta 4].
Through this scheme, eligible workers will receive protection 24 hours a day throughout the work period, including accidents that occur outside working hours And not directly related to job duties.
In contrast to the Work Accident Scheme which only covers work accidents or during the journey to and from work, the 24 Hour PROTECTION Scheme provides protection against accidents that occur while carrying out personal activities, as long as the conditions set by SOCSO are met.
What is a SOCSO Liability Release Notice?
Disclaimer Notice is the official statement by local workers who voted did not participate 24 Hour PROTECTION Scheme.
This form or choice must be made within the specified time period up to SOCSO Benefits PROTECTION Portal.
This means that employees who do not wish to contribute to this scheme must make an active choice. If no action is taken, the system will assume the employee agrees to participate in the scheme.

Why Was the Waiver of Liability Notice Introduced?

All employees are covered below Employee Social Security Act of 1969 (Act 4) eligible for 24 Hour PROTECTION Scheme protection.

- Foreign workers
- Contract workers
- Part-time worker
There is no age limit set as long as a person remains a contributing employee under SOCSO.
Is Participation Mandatory?
The application of this scheme varies according to worker categories.
- Local Workers – Participation is voluntary. If employees do not want to take part in this scheme, then they must apply Disclaimer Notice within the specified time period. If no notification is sent until August 31, 2026workers will be considered join the scheme automatically.
- Foreign workers – Participation is must. Foreign workers cannot opt out of this scheme.
Selection Period
SOCSO determines the time period for creating the Liability Release Notice option as follows:
July 13, 2026 to August 31, 2026
During this period, local workers can:
- choose to join the scheme; or
- Submit a Disclaimer Notice if you do not wish to participate.
What Happens If You Don’t Make a Choice?
This is one of the most important things to know.
If local workers do not submit the Notice of Release of Liability before August 31, 2026their status will be:
- automatically activated as a contributor to the 24 Hour PROTECTION Scheme;
- contributions will continue according to SOCSO’s schedule;
- Workers have the right to enjoy the protection provided.
In other words, no action is deemed to be consent to participate in this scheme.
How to Create a Disclaimer Notice
Workers who want did not participate The 24 Hour PROTECTION Scheme must:
- Surfing SOCSO Benefits PROTECTION Portal:
- Sign in using the required information.
- Select an option Not Participating in the 24 Hour PROTECTION Scheme.
- Complete the Option/Notice of Release of Liability Form.
- Send confirmation.
If the portal cannot be used, SOCSO allows sending the Release of Liability Notice manually (offline) according to the specified procedures.
Can Employees Change Their Decisions After Joining?

According to SOCSO, employees who choose to participate in the 24 Hour PROTECTION Scheme are categorized as “Once worthy, always worthy”.
This means that workers will continue to contribute so that their coverage remains continuous throughout their working life.
24 Hour PROTECTION Scheme Contribution Rate
The application of contribution rates is carried out in stages.
First Phase
- June 1, 2026 to May 31, 2028
- 0.75% of monthly salary
Second Phase
- June 1, 2028 to May 31, 2031
- 1.00%
Third Phase
These rates are subject to salary ceiling limitations RM6,000 a month in accordance with current SOCSO regulations.

Are Employers Given a Grace Period?

How to Make a Benefit Claim?
If a qualifying accident occurs, employees can submit a claim through:
SOCSO Benefits PROTECTION Portal () or come directly to the nearest SOCSO office.
Supporting documents that are usually required include:
- police report (if relevant);
- sick leave certificate;
- medical report;
- accident verification documents;
- other documents requested by SOCSO.
SOCSO will assess each claim based on the facts of the case and the eligibility conditions of the scheme.
