Officially, the nine Technical High Schools (SMT) are now known as Fully Technical Islamic Boarding School (SBP-T). The rebranding announcement was made by Minister of Education Fadhlina Sidek.
This step involves transferring the operational management of SMT from the Vocational Technical Education and Training Division (BPLTV) to the Boarding School Management Division (BPSBP), Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM).
So, for parents who have children who are interested in STEM, technology or engineering fields, this is one path that can be explored.
SM School of Technology is now known as SBP-T
The Technical High School (SM Teknik) that we have known for a long time has a new face and is officially rebranding everything Technical Boarding School (SBP-T).
The management of SSM Engineering was transferred directly under the Islamic Boarding School Management Division (BPSBP).
In other words, SBP-T’s status is now on par with other SBPs and is more focused on producing ‘experts’ in STEM fields while being ready to meet the needs of the future job market.
Why was this change made?
- Celebrating TVET Education: Raising the level and placing the Technical and Vocational Education and Training stream to a higher level.
- Empowering the STEM Agenda: Strengthen the role of schools in producing superior human resources in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
- Skilled Labor Requirements: Producing a group of future professionals to meet the country’s industrial projections in line with MADANI Malaysia’s aspirations.

What is a Technical High School?
SMT is a senior secondary school which is Form 4 and 5 which provides opportunities for students who have an inclination in science and technology education to meet the world of work in the country’s industry.
After taking the Malaysian Education Certificate (SPM), students have the opportunity to continue their studies at tertiary level both at state higher education institutions (IPTA) and private higher education institutions (IPTS) in various fields, especially engineering, to then become professionals.

Technical High School Admission Requirements
General Conditions:
- Candidates are Malaysian citizen;
- Candidates must be Form Three (3) students in the academic session at the time of application;
- Candidates must enroll in the Student Management Module;
- Candidates must be seated Special School Admission Assessment (PKSK);
- Candidates must be seated Class Assessment (PBD), Physical, Sports and Extracurricular Activity Assessment (PAJSK), and Psychometric Assessment (PPsi);
- Candidate is in good health;
- Candidates must not have injuries or a history of illness or disease that limits, restricts, and makes it difficult to carry out practical and practical work;
- Candidates must NOT COLOR BLIND / COLOR BLIND; And
- Candidates must be interested in the program they are applying for.

Candidates obtained at least Mastery Level 4 (Classroom Assessment – PBD) in the following subjects:

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google.
