What is the Malaysian Art School?
The formation of SSeM is in line with the Ministry of Environment’s efforts as stated in the Malaysian Education Development Plan (PPPM) 2013 – 2025.
That is; provide equal access to international quality education by expanding access and improving the quality of education in line with efforts to strengthen the country’s education system that is more comprehensive and does not only rely on academics.
The Malaysian Arts School (SSeM) was founded to provide opportunities and space for Malaysia’s young generation to work in the arts and not only depend on certain careers but can form a career in the arts.

Definition
A one-session formal educational institution that provides facilities to polish and develop the potential and talents of generations of students to actively and creatively pursue the arts and culture of the country.
Philosophy
Efforts to develop individual potential in a balanced and integrated manner through arts education which is carried out in a planned and systematic manner. This effort is to produce people who are responsible and have noble character in practicing the nation’s culture and noble Malaysian identity.

Malaysian Art School Admission Requirements
- Malaysian citizen
- Candidates must come from government schools, private and private schools registered with the Ministry of Education Malaysia.
- Talented and potential in the arts (Visual Arts/Dance/Theatre/Music)
- Healthy body
- Only ‘Online’ applications will be processed
Registration Requirements
- Pass the Aptitude Test
- Agree to accept admission to SSeM offered in accordance with the specified field
- Successful students are required to live in dormitories and comply with established regulations
- Submit student health records
- The application will be rejected if the candidate forges any documents while submitting the application
Audition Session
1. Auditions are conducted through face-to-face Art Presentation Sessions at locations determined by the State Education Department.
2. Candidates who register online can check the date and location of the audition and print the call letter via the system according to the date which will be notified later via email. Please ensure that the email address provided when filling out the application is an active email.
3. Candidates need to bring a printout of the application form that has been endorsed by the Principal or Senior Assistant Co-Curriculum Teacher while attending the audition session.
4. For candidates who cannot attend the Art Presentation Session in person for audition due to unavoidable reasons, candidates are allowed to send a recording of the performance via CD/email (upload recording to Google Drive or YouTube) within the specified time period only. Late deliveries will not be processed.
5. Candidates must dress neatly and politely when attending the Art Presentation/recording Session. For performing arts candidates, candidates are asked to wear a black collared t-shirt, black track pants, headscarf/black hair tied in a neat bun (female candidates).
6. Only candidates who have registered online and through the audition session will be considered for selection.
