Announcement of Fasting 2026 & Date to Meet Ramadhan Children in Malaysia

The date for seeing the new moon for Ramadhan, which determines the start date for Muslim fasting in Malaysia this year, is on the evening of February 17, coinciding with 29 Shaaban 1447H. The 1st Ramadhan Fasting date has arrived February 19, 2026.

The Office of the Keeper of the Great Seal of Kings in its statement informed that the Council of Kings had agreed that the method for determining the date for the start of fasting was based on Rukyah and Hisab.

The Keeper of the Great Seal of Kings has announced the start date of the fast via radio and television.

The Fasting Start Date for 1447H/2026M has been announced through the following resolution:

This is according to the calculations of the Malaysian Survey and Mapping Department (JUPEM) published in the Malaysian Falak Syarie Almanac (AFSM) and the JAKIM calendar, the 1st of Ramadhan is expected to start on February 19, 2026.

Prayer When Seeing Children in the Month of Ramadan

The Prophet SAW taught prayers that must be read when seeing the new moon in Ramadan:

O God, give us peace and faith, peace and Islam, my God and your God, God.

Meaning: “O God, keep us with peace and faith and blessings, safety and prosperity. My God and your God are God.”

Pray more and ask for forgiveness so that we are given the widest possible opportunity to carry out pious deeds. God willing.
