In the midst of the social media turmoil that discussed the plan to open the selection of Candidates for Civil Servants (CPNS) and government employees with a Work Agreement (PPPK) in 2025, the government finally gave official clarification. This was revealed by the Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan-RB), Rini Widyantini, who emphasized that until now, there were no plans to open CPNS recruitment in 2025, both for public and honorary channels.
Minister Rini explained that currently the main focus of the government is to complete the process of appointment of CPNS and PPPK 2024 selection results. “The number of CPNS and PPPK 2024 Phase 1 formations that need to be completed reaches more than one million people. This is a big task that requires full attention from the government,” Rini said on Sunday (5/25).
The appointment process for CPNS and PPPK 2024 itself is divided into two major stages, namely June 1 and October 1. This shows the amount of workload that must be completed, so the government considers it is impossible to immediately open a new recruitment.
While on the other hand, the selection of PPPK 2024 phase 2 which is still ongoing also shows a significant dynamic. From the data announced by the Head of the State Personnel Agency (BKN), Prof. Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, as many as 1,357,205 people registered for PPPK Phase 1, but only 1,006,153 formations were available nationally. Of this number, 676,482 honorary staff managed to graduate, leaving 680,723 participants who did not get a formation.
The PPPK Phase 2 selection process will leave 329,671 formation, and interest, there are around 863,993 participants who must compete to obtain that position. This figure shows how competitiveness is the world of work in the public sector, especially with the existence of 116,498 registered honorary who participated in the second stage of selection.
With these various challenges, the government hopes to complete all the appointment processes before considering the opening of recruitment in 2025. “Our priority is currently completing the entire selection and appointment of CPNS and PPPK 2024. We have not planned the selection of 2025,” Rini explained.
The government explained that creating a transparent and accountable recruitment system is part of their commitment to improve the quality of public services. The current focus is to ensure that all applicants who meet the requirements get a fair opportunity.
Thus, job seekers who hope to participate in the selection of CPNS and PPPK in 2025 are asked to remain calm and focus on official information from the government. The limitations of formation and the very high number of applicants are a challenge. Therefore, although the hope for recruitment in 2025 exists, in fact until now the government is still focused on completing the ongoing process.
In the future, the government appealed to applicants to continue to update information and not lose hope, while waiting for certainty related to selection in the coming years. The opening of the CPNS and PPPK selection will certainly be determined based on government readiness and labor needs in the public sector.
