The mystery of actress Nadia Kesuma’s disappearance shortly after arriving at King Abdul Aziz International Airport, Jeddah was finally answered when she reportedly died of a heart attack last Thursday.

This was confirmed by her daughter via Threads earlier, who informed her that her mother had died of heart disease.

“Assalamualaikum everyone, I inform you that my mother Nadiah Kasumawati Abdul Karim returned to Rahmatullah on January 15 (Thursday) at around 8.05 am.

The deceased died of heart disease and was then taken to hospital on the same day when the deceased arrived at Jeddah Airport.

“No one has informed us and the family about the condition of the deceased until tonight at 23.10. The news was conveyed by the travel agency itself,” he wrote.

January 14, 2026

• Actress Nadia Kasumawati Abdul Karim, 50 years old, took part in an Umrah and Hajj group organized by a travel agency with 21 other participants, from 14 to 28 January 2026.
• Nadia was supposed to continue the flight to London after transiting in Jeddah for several hours.
• However, Nadia did not appear when the other congregation gathered to continue their journey to London.

January 15, 2026

• Nadia failed to be contacted by her family members after leaving KLIA for Jeddah at around 12.30.
• The actor did not answer calls and did not reply to messages after reportedly not boarding the next flight from Jeddah.
• Nadia’s husband received a call from the travel agency informing him that Nadia was not on the flight.
• The husband also received a message from the travel agency and mutawwif confirming that Nadia was not on the flight.
• No reply was received when Nadia tried to contact him.

January 17, 2026

• Nadia’s husband, Prof Dr Muhammad Kamarul Kabilan Abdullah, 57 years old, appealed to the Malaysian government to exert diplomatic efforts with the Saudi Arabian government to speed up the process of searching for his wife.
• Nadia’s family members have made reports to Wisma Putra and the Malaysian Consulate in Jeddah.
• For the time being, Nadia’s husband was advised to stay in Malaysia and not fly to Jeddah so as not to interfere with the investigation, apart from the language barrier due to his lack of fluency in Arabic.
• Nadia’s disappearance has been reported to the Saudi Arabian police.
• The Malaysian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Datuk Syed Bakri Syed Abdul Rahman, informed that a missing report had been made and his party was now waiting for the results of the Saudi Arabian police investigation.
