Synopsis of the film Forbidden Night

The film “Forbidden Night” tells the story of Mawar, an 18 year old girl who postpones her dream of becoming a journalist in order to look after her mother (Sarimah) with the help of her half-brother, Safar.
However, Mawar’s life changes after a sudden death in her family causes a mysterious creature to disturb her, forcing Mawar to investigate the secret behind the tragedy.
At the same time, his father, Omar, was busy with a political campaign to overthrow his party leader, Haji Wahid.
The deeper Mawar investigates, the more she is faced with terrifying paranormal events that her family members often take for granted.


Finally, Mawar and Omar have to face the real enemy to escape the grip of the dark forces that haunt their lives.
This film, set in 1987, successfully combines elements of horror, politics and family conflict with intense and mysterious storytelling.
The audience is brought to dive into the tension that not only comes from supernatural phenomena but also the emotional dilemmas and struggles of these family members in facing life’s challenges and silent but real dark forces.
