EPF Hajj Withdrawal 2026 – Requirements & How to Apply

This is good news for prospective Hajj pilgrims who require additional costs. This increase limit applies from January 1 2026, as announced in the 2026 APBN.

What is EPF Hajj Withdrawal?

EPF Hajj Withdrawal allows EPF members to withdraw money from their savings to pay for Hajj.

This withdrawal allows EPF members who are Muslim to withdraw part of their savings in the Sejahtera Account (Account 2) to complete the remaining savings in the Haji Tabung (TH) to meet the minimum Hajj payment requirements.

From 1 January 2026, the maximum limit is increased to RM10,000 (compared to RM3,000 in previous years), or the lower of the Sejahtera Account balance.

Tabung Haji Account balance reporting requirements are now also removed for ease of application.

Who Can Register?

1. Malaysian citizen
2. Age under 55 years
3. Selected to perform the Hajj by the Hajj Fund Council
4. Never submitted a Hajj Withdrawal

How to Apply for EPF Hajj Withdrawal

Currently, the application must be done manually at EPF counter for biometric (fingerprint) authentication purposes. Here are the steps:

Step 1: Prepare Documents

You only need two main documents:

• Original Identity Card (MyKad).
• Offer letter from LTH with status “SELECTED”

Step 2: Attend a Branch

Take the documents to the nearest EPF branch. Members do not need to fill out the form, only need to put a thumbprint on the ‘Notice of Confirmation of Withdrawal Request’ as proof of the withdrawal request.

Step 3: Biometric Authentication

Perform a fingerprint scan at the counter to verify your identity and application.

Step 4: Payment Receipt

Payment will be credited directly to your bank account registered with EPF within the specified time period (not later than seven (7) working days after receipt by EPF)

How to Check Payment Status

EPF members can check the status of their application and payment through the official EPF channels, namely:

The withdrawal amount must be refunded if the member cancels or postpones the Hajj pilgrimage. The full amount must be returned to the EPF.

However, if the member dies after the withdrawal is made, the heirs do not need to return the money withdrawn and can submit a claim in accordance with the latest LTH procedures. The heirs should contact LTH for that purpose.
