BAKTIDESA KKDW Education Assistance is an initiative of the Ministry of Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Regions (KKDW) to help students who meet the requirements to continue their studies without financial burden. What is BAKTIDESA KKDW Education Assistance

The cost assistance provided in the BAKTIDESA Education Assistance program is in the form of ‘on-off’ as preparation for entering recognized educational institutions such as Full Boarding Schools (SBP), MRSM, Daily/Religious Boarding Schools, Matriculation Centers, Study Centers (Training/Education) and State Universities (IPTA).

The amount of assistance provided is as follows:

  • Category 1: SBP, MRSM, Part. Daily/Religious Dormitory, Matriculation Center, Study Center (Certificate Level Training/Education) – RM500
  • Category 2: State Universities (IPTA)/Diploma and First Level Studies – RM1,000.00

Eligibility Conditions

To ensure that the BAKTIDESA Educational Assistance program achieves its goals, only individuals who meet the following eligibility requirements will be considered for this educational assistance:

  1. Applicants must be Malaysian citizens and unmarried;
  2. The applicant’s total family income is as recorded in the 2019 Poverty Line Income Table (PGK) below;
    • Poor Category
      • House Contents – RM2,199
      • Per Capita – RM567
    • Hard Poor Category
      • House Contents – RM1,142
      • Per Capita – RM290
  3. Has been offered/accepted admission to Full Boarding School (SBP), Mara Science Junior College (MRSM), Day/Religious Boarding School, Matriculation Center, Skills Training Institute recognized by the Department of Skills Development (JPK), State Institute of Higher Education (IPTA) full time;
  4. The courses and areas of training undertaken must be recognized by Government bodies such as the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), JPK or other relevant bodies; And
  5. The BAKTIDESA Education Assistance Application must be submitted no later than twelve (12) months from the date the offer letter is received.

List of Supporting Documents

Every application for BAKTIDESA Education Assistance must be accompanied by all copies of the documents below only confirmed by Government Officials (Management and Professional Groups [Gred 41 / Kumpulan A dan ke atas]) OR Conductor/ Penghulu/ Village Head/ Session/ MPKK/ Chair of JKKR/ Tribal Leader/ Traditional Leader/ Temenggong/ Kapitan/ Pemanca (Mukim in residential areas)/ Chair of Residents’ Association/ Chair of JKKK/ Member of DPR/ Member of DPR/ Member of Oath/ Power of Conciliation:

  • Copy of Applicant’s Identity Card;
  • Copy of Acceptance Offer Letter to SBP/MRSM/Islamic Boarding School/Skills Training Institute and State University;
  • Copy of Registration Confirmation at SBP/MRSM/Day School/Skills Training Institute and State University;
  • Photocopy of Verified Monthly Income Statement/Monthly Salary Slip of the Applicant’s Father/Mother or Heir/Guardian. For those who do not have monthly income reports/salary slips, income verification is carried out by the Penghulu, MPKK Chair, Village Head or related parties; And
  • Copy of the front page of the active Bank Account Book/Summary of the applicant’s Bank Account. Tabung Haji (TH) and National Stock Trust (ASB) accounts are not accepted.

– Diploma and First Degree level studies

The application must be accompanied by copies of documents that have been legalized by authorized officials such as Government Officials Class 41 and above, Penghulu, Village Head, MPKK, Council Members, DPR Members, Oath Taking Members and other related parties.

– Copy of Entry Offer Letter
– Copy of Registration Confirmation
-Photocopy of Salary Slip/Parent/guardian Income Verification
– Copy the front page of the active Bank Account Book
