Tun Ali Cup 2025 [LIVE]

The tournament will take place on 3 to 9 November 2025 at Bukit Serindit, Melaka. Around 18 to 24 teams from various states in Malaysia will compete in the men’s and women’s singles and doubles events to compete for the championship title.

What is the 2025 Tun Ali Cup

The 2025 Tun Ali Cup is a prestigious annual sepak takraw tournament that brings together the best teams in the country.

The main aim of this tournament is to enhance the status of sepak takraw in Malaysia by providing a competitive and professional competition platform for players from various countries.

This tournament is planned to take place starting at November 3 to 9, 2025 on Serindit Hill, Malacca. There are two main events that are contested, namely team and quadrant, including the men’s and women’s categories.

The Tun Ali Cup is also considered a continuation of the success of the teams playing in the Sepak Takraw League (STL) and is a place for talent search and player exposure, including the opportunity to play at international level.

State teams like the Perak Bison have voiced their aim to at least reach the 2025 Tun Ali Cup final.

This week-long tournament presents various interesting matches in squad and quadrant event formats and involves the best teams in Malaysia who will compete for the championship title.

The categories contested are Men’s Squad, Women’s Squad and Men’s Quadrant.

Match Format

As in previous years, the match format is to follow the following match structure:

• Preliminary Stage (Group Stage): Teams are divided into groups and compete in leagues against each other. The group winner will qualify for the next round.

• Final (Knockout): The teams that qualify will compete on a knockout basis, starting from the quarter-finals, semi-finals, to the final. The group champion and runner-up teams will be placed on opposite sides to ensure competitive balance.

• Number of Matches: Each team can play no more than three matches in a day with a minimum rest period of 30 minutes between one match and the next.

• Special Rules: Players must wear uniform uniforms with front and back numbers and arm bands for captains. For the veteran category, players are also allowed to wear 3-quarter trousers in the uniform color. The decision and assessment system is final by the management committee and referee.

This format ensures competition is fair and orderly, giving teams the opportunity to demonstrate their strategies and skills in a highly competitive atmosphere.​​

Tickets for the 2025 Tun Ali Cup which is scheduled to take place at Bukit Serindit, Melaka can be purchased at the Entrance Hall.

• Ticket prices are as follows:
  • Adult – RM10.00
  • Children – RM5.00
