What is the Selangor Kindergarten Assistance Scheme (TUNAS)?

The Selangor Kindergarten Assistance Scheme (TUNAS) is a kindergarten fee assistance program provided by the Selangor State Government to help ease the burden on parents in paying their children’s kindergarten fees.

The amount of assistance provided is RM50 a month. This scheme is specifically for eligible 5 and 6 year old children.

This assistance is not given in cash to parents, but is directly distributed to kindergartens registered with the Selangor State Education Department (JPNs), Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS), Community Development Department (KEMAS), National Unity Department (JPN).

TUNAS’ main goal is to ensure that early childhood education is accessible to low-income families in Selangor by reducing kindergarten costs directly through this assistance.

This scheme is one of the state government’s initiatives to strengthen early childhood education and child welfare. Registration can be done online via the official TUNAS website.

Application Terms

1. Applicants must be Malaysian citizens
2. Applicants must:
   • Mother OR father was born in Selangor and currently resides in Selangor
   • OR a child born in Selangor and currently domiciled in Selangor
   • OR parents who have legally resided in Selangor for at least 5 years. Must obtain a domicile certificate from the Village Head/Pemhulu/Head of Housing Park/Senator/Assembly Member/Regional Authority Council Member in the area where he lives
3. Household income RM3,000 and below
4. Husband and wife work or do not work
5. Only 5 and 6 year olds

2. Fill in the applicant’s KTP number and also the child’s Mykid number.
3. Click New Registration.
4. Fill in all required information accurately. Then, click Send.
